I offer 1:1 psychological therapy for children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as those experiencing general stress and overwhelm. I have a particular interest in supporting people who are experiencing work related stress, or need support to address their work-life balance.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate, providing a safe space for people to work on their difficulties. I mainly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT) which combines learning practical strategies for dealing with difficulties, with action focused towards supporting you to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
In addition to ACT, I also draw on my knowledge and experience as a yoga & mindfulness teacher, and children’s yoga therapist. I believe this gives me a more holistic understanding of well-being, taking into account the mind, body and heart, as well as our connection to the natural world. I often find myself combining psychological approaches with tools and techniques from yoga and mindfulness.
If this way of working therapeutically is of interest to you, then please do get in touch for more information. I am offering face-to-face sessions from my cosy therapy space in Marsden, Huddersfield, and continue to offer online sessions. As I am passionate about the benefits that being in nature can have on our mental health, I also offer ‘walk-and-talk’ sessions outside in local natural environments.
If you have a private health insurance policy then your policy may cover the full cost, or part of the cost, of sessions with me. I am currently registered with Bupa, Cigna, WPA, AXA PPP and Aviva.
